The eco tours are available for both novice
and experienced canoeists. All of the tours are interactive
and visitors help by paddling one of the spacious eight-person
canoes into the most remote areas of the marsh. Wye Marsh
naturalists will interpret the workings of wetlands and
explain the problems associated with wetland management
while keeping you up-to-date on the latest research undertaken
by marsh. Visitors go behind the scenes into the world
of woodland and wetland research by getting into the thick
of things during the springtime when new life is cropping
up everyday. By learning the tips of tracking and birding,
you will discover some of Ontario’s most interesting
animals and birds who can only be found deep in the cells
of this wetland paradise. This adventure could bring you
face to face with forest creatures such as Beavers, Deer,
Trumpeter Swans, a variety of duck species and more.
For
all of the trips visitors will need: Water, snack, binoculars,
insect repellent optional and weather appropriate clothing,
sturdy shoes or hiking boots.
