Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre in Midland Ontario was the site of a significant funding announcement from the Species at Risk Stewardship Fund--part of the Ministry of Natural Resources' http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/index.html). This year the Ministry of Natural Resources has granted $12,000 to support species at risk inventories for the Wye Marsh Provincial Wildlife Area. This will provide the necessary information to ensure habitats are protected and taken into consideration in any future land use planning.

HUNTSVILLE, ONT. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 – Delta Grandview Resort’s Echo-Valley Observatory officially re-opens its doors on Monday, May 12th, 2008.The three-storey domed observatory was constructed in 2000, resembling a landlocked lighthouse. Equipped with a state-of-the-art Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that is capable of revealing objects one million times fainter than the faintest objects visible to the naked eye. The first resort-based astronomical observatory is the largest in Ontario, primarily for public viewing of celestial objects.
