The most distingquishing element of Manitoulin Island is
the fact that it is considered to be the largest fresh
water island in the world. At the very north west
side of Georgian bay, it separates Lake Huron from Georgian
Bay, and the North Channel separates Manitoulin Island from
the Ontario Mainland.

to enhance guests' knowledge through interaction with Canada's
First Nations people. The Great Spirit Circle Trail
encompasses eight First Nation communities on Manitoulin Island
and the Sagamok region in Northeastern Ontario, Canada.
