Georgian Bay Hiking Trails
Exceptional vistas, forests, and shorelines area the domain
of Georgian Bay. Most of the national
and provincial parks have
hiking trails on site or nearby. A comprehensive website for
the south and west side of Georgian Bay was assembled with
18
suggested Trails for hiking staring in the Midland area,
Wasaga Beach area, Collingwood area, Thornbury, Meaford, Owen
Sound up to Tobermory. Needles to say the Bruce Trail is a
major portion of many hikes throughout this area of Georgian
Bay.
Of historical significance is the Trout Hollow Trail, which
captivates the area where John Muir founder of the Sierra
Club in California was inspired during his working career
in Canada. John Muir has an Ontario
Heritage Foundation Plaque acknowledging his stay in Ontario.

Marsh Wildlife Centre
Enjoy fresh air as you take a leisurely walk in the
woods to see the wildlife and listen to all the birds.
There are many interesting short trails for the novice
"stroller" or longer trails for the more hardy
"hikers". If you prefer, you can take a guided
walk with one of our Outdoor Educators, who can discuss
many points of interest. Guided walks run every weekend
in May and June and daily for the months of July and
August.
