Eastern Georgian Bay (30,000 Islands) (Google
Map)
The idea of borders for either counties, or municipalities
can be somewhat arbitrary and in many cases the exact geographical
location of the many associations and organizations in the
Georgian Bay Areas extend into a very loose definition of
where Eastern Georgian Bay starts and ends. The most distinguishing
elements of the South and East sides of Georgian Bay are the
30,000 Islands and Canada's newest Bioshpere
Reserve which is considered to be the world's largest
freshwater archipelago.

by many boaters to be the gateway to Canada's Historic Trent-Severn
Waterway, or the gateway to Georgian Bay when boating from
the East.
