Snake School

Midland , ON - Are you interested in learning about what it takes to handle and house snakes? Here is your chance to go behind the scenes in the world of herpetology. Whether you are a beginner snake enthusiast, or a budding herpetologist, this full day workshop will be a fun and entertaining day. Wye Marsh Snake School offers a unique opportunity for hands-on education and professional instruction on: Introduction to snakes of the world, anatomy, safety and venomous snake bite procedures, housing and husbandry, handling, hooking, tubing, and bagging, and transportation. Please note this school is limited to 10 participants aged 13 and up.

Date: Saturday, July 28th, 2007
Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Cost: $85.00 per person
Lunch provided, Pre-registration and payment required, 24 hour cancellation policy

Wine & Cheese Art Sale In The Marsh

Midland , ON – A variety of art and photography will be available for appreciation, viewing and purchase during our "Wine & Cheese in the Marsh". Come and enjoy the diversity of the artists works and discuss with them their inspirations for the pieces featured at this unique event. Wye Marsh will be selling Christine Marshall wildlife prints which have been donated for this event. Artists attending are: Joe Springall, Deb Grisé, Cynthia Blair, Beverley J. Hanna, and Bruce & Marlene Lockhart. Included in this magical evening are several musicians performing throughout the marsh, enjoy a sundown guided canoe, and meet our newest addition to the Birds of Prey program, Stella, the Eagle Owl.

Time: 5:00pm to 9:00pm

Cost: $5.00 per person, does not include wine and beer

Full Moon Guided Canoe and Walk

Midland , ON - Experience nature as few people do… At night! Grab a flashlight and join the Wye Marsh naturalists to search for the most interesting and secretive creatures in the animal world. You'll find some of the most amazing night life as we look for owls, bats, raccoons and salamanders. This evening canoe and walk will get you excited to look around in the dark!

Upcoming Dates: July 28th, 2007 and August 25th, 2007
Time: 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM
Cost: $5.00 for members, $8.00 for non-members
Pre-registration required and hiking boots are recommended
